Beckley Creek Park

1411 Beckley Creek Pkwy, Louisville, KY 40245

Beckley Creek Park is one of the best photo locations near Louisville for couples, engagement sessions, and family photography thanks to its incredible variety and easy accessibility. The park features wide open fields, several of which bloom with beautiful flowers during certain times of the year, along with scenic walking paths, a peaceful creek, and a charming pond with a wooden bridge. There is also a rustic barn area with fences that creates the perfect countryside backdrop for portraits. While there is some walking involved, the paths are mostly flat and easy, making Beckley Creek Park a beautiful and convenient location for photo sessions.

Falls of the Ohio State Park

201 W Riverside Dr. Clarksville, IN 47129

Falls of the Ohio is a unique and beautiful photo location perfect for engagement sessions, couples photography, and portraits near Louisville. This scenic spot offers stunning views of the Ohio River and the downtown Louisville skyline, along with open grassy areas that create a relaxed natural backdrop. When the river levels are low enough, the rocky shoreline becomes exposed and accessible, adding dramatic texture and variety to your photos. With waterfront views, natural landscapes, and an adventurous feel, Falls of the Ohio is a fun and memorable location for photo sessions.

Big Four Bridge and Downtown Jeffersonville

200-298 W Market St, Jeffersonville, IN 47130

The Big Four Bridge is an iconic Louisville photo location that offers stunning waterfront views and a modern city feel for engagement sessions, couples photography, and portraits. The bridge stretches across the Ohio River and provides beautiful views of the Louisville skyline, especially during golden hour and blue hour. Surrounding the bridge are open grassy areas, walking paths, and riverfront spaces that add plenty of variety to your session. With its combination of urban scenery, waterfront views, and vibrant atmosphere, the Big Four Bridge is a fun and timeless location for photos in Louisville.

Riverside, The Farnsley Moremen Landing

7410 Moorman Rd, Louisville, KY 40272

Riverside, the Farnsley-Moremen Landing is a historic and peaceful photo location perfect for engagement sessions, couples photography, and family portraits. Nestled along the Ohio River, this hidden gem features beautifully preserved historic buildings, rustic textures, and wide-open green spaces that feel quiet and private compared to busier city locations. The riverfront views add a soft, scenic backdrop, while the grounds offer plenty of variety with old architecture, tree-lined paths, and natural landscapes. Riverside is a timeless and romantic setting for photos with a relaxed, historic Kentucky feel

The Brown Hotel

335 W Broadway, Louisville, KY 40202

The Brown Hotel is a timeless and romantic Louisville photo location, perfect for engagement sessions, couples photography, and elegant portraits. Known for its historic charm and upscale atmosphere, the hotel offers several beautiful areas for photos, including access to its iconic interiors and, when available, the rooftop for a stunning downtown backdrop. Because it is an active hotel, sessions are currently only allowed on weekdays before 4pm, and an access request and approval are required prior to shooting—something I handle for you once you choose this location. Located in the heart of downtown Louisville, it also makes it easy to walk to nearby city spots for additional variety in your gallery, creating a mix of classic elegance and urban charm all in one session.

Papa Johns Park

Bluegrass Pkwy, Jeffersontown, KY 40299

Papa John’s Park is a versatile and beautiful Louisville photo location, perfect for engagement sessions, couples photography, and family portraits. After a good rain, the park features a stunning waterfall that creates a unique and dynamic backdrop for photos. Even in drier conditions, there are still plenty of scenic options, including a large pond with a charming bridge, wooded walking trails, and well-maintained pathways that are ideal for portraits. With its mix of water features, greenery, and easy-to-navigate spaces, Papa John’s Park offers a variety of backdrops all in one convenient location.

Huber’s Orchard and Winery

19816 Huber Rd, Borden, IN 47106

Huber’s Orchard and Winery is a beautiful and seasonal photo location perfect for engagement sessions, couples photography, and family portraits—especially if you’re dreaming of sunflower fields or pumpkin patches. Depending on the time of year, we can take the U-Pick tractors out to different areas of the farm, giving access to orchards, open fields, and seasonal blooms. There is a small $7 field access fee (on non-October months), and it’s important to note that the farm can get very busy and typically closes before sunset. Because of that, timing is key when planning your session here—but when everything lines up, Huber’s offers a vibrant, colorful, and truly iconic farm backdrop.

Heigold House- The Door to Nowhere

332-402 Frankfort Ave, Louisville, KY 40206

The Door to Nowhere at the Heigold House is a unique and artistic Louisville photo location, perfect for couples, engagement sessions, and creative portrait work. This historic stone façade features intricate hand-carved details and a famously unfinished “door to nowhere,” giving the space a moody, architectural feel that stands out from traditional photo spots. The textures of the stonework, arches, and sculptural elements create a dramatic backdrop that works beautifully for more editorial-style images. While the space is smaller compared to parks and outdoor fields, it offers a one-of-a-kind setting right in the heart of the city—ideal for couples wanting something bold, historic, and visually striking.
